There was a large police response to an incident on Guildford Road on Wednesday night with one eyewitness reporting that up to a dozen officers in six police cars were seen at the corner of Halsall Road at c.10.30pm.

Merseyside Police PR statement: "This relates to a domestic incident.

"Two men were initially detained at the scene but later released without charge."
